Deaf Youth Festival 2009

The Roberto Wirth Fund  was a sponsor and partner of the Festival of Deaf Youth, organized by CGSI (Italian Deaf Youth Committee) in the beautiful small town of Orvieto on the 16th and 17th of October 2009.

In the spectacular setting of Palazzo del Popolo, the CGSI gave visibility to "different abilities” focusing on the talents, culture, values and traditions of Deaf people and the Deaf Community. Numerous visitors, from all over Italy, were given the opportunity to participate in interesting workshops and seminars and to appreciate art exhibitions and performances by deaf actors.

At the event RWF was represented by three deaf collaborators and former students with “Roberto Wirth” scholarship. They presented their experiences working with deaf children in specifc seminars “Creativity in the Museum” by Carlo di Biase, “The mystery of Africa " by Tiziana Gulli and “Tales and Signs" by Romilda Danesi.
